On the third day of play at this year's Wimbledon, seventh-seeded Caroline Wozniacki was upset 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-4 by Tamira Paszek of Austria in a stunning first round match. The former top-ranked player in the world, Wozniacki battled but simply couldn't convert numerous key points.
The present top-ranked women's player in the world, Maria Sharapova, couldn't finish her match against Tsvetana Pironkova before it was postponed by darkness. More than 20 matches being played on outside courts have been postponed until Thursday.
On the men's side of things, Roger Federer looked fantastic in beating Fabio Fognini 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 in a decisive first round match. Novak Djokovic wasn't as dominant, but he never looked in real trouble during a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Ryan Harrison.
