Kevin Youkilis Trade Rumors: Trade Talks Could Be In 'Final Stages'

The Chicago White Sox could be close to the first blockbuster trade of the 2012 MLB Season. According to FOX's Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi, the talks between the Boston Red Sox and White Sox are "more advanced" than any other team bidding for Kevin Youkilis, and the deal "could be approaching its final stages."

The Youkilis-to-Chicago rumors have heated up this week, and adding a healthy Youkilis at third base would give the White Sox one of the best lineups in baseball. It's unclear what exactly the White Sox will be giving up in the deal or which types of players (hitters or pitchers, prospects or major leaguers) the Red Sox covet.

Rosenthal and Morosi are also reporting that the Red Sox are willing to eat a majority of Youkilis' remaining salary, and that there will be a strong correlation between the type of player (or players) Chicago gives up and the amount of money that Boston is wiling to shoulder.
