NCAA Football Playoff: NCAA To Ditch The Term 'BCS'

Many of the specifics of the NCAA's impending football playoff are still up in the air, but we now know for sure that one thing won't be carried over: the name "BCS". Dennis Dodd of CBSSports reported on Tuesday that the conference commissioners have decided to do away with the term "BCS" and will instead pick a totally new name for the playoff.

That name hasn't been decided yet, and reportedly isn't currently that high on the to-do list as the commissioners meet in Chicago this week to hammer out more playoff details. According to Dodd, the commissioners will likely draw up a few different playoff models to be forwarded to the BCS presidential oversight committee, which will meet in Washington, D.C. on June 26.
