While the final round of the 2012 U.S. Open doesn't have either Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson in contention, a congested leaderboard suggests that it could be setup for a fantastic finish on Sunday evening.
Jim Furyk, who entered the final round at The Olympic Club with a share of the lead, has been steady and currently holds a two-stroke lead. Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Webb Simpson and John Peterson are all tied at +2 and remain close to Furyk. Padraig Harrington and Michael Thompson have made a push on Sunday, as both are at -2 so far and sit just three strokes behind Furyk.
After a poor ending to his round on Saturday, Woods has struggled even more on Sunday, dropping down to +9 for the tournament. Mickelson has struggled throughout the tournament and finished at +16.
