2012 U.S. Open Scores: Steve Stricker In Line For Lowest Score Of Day

At four over par, University of Illinois graduate Steve Stricker isn't still a few shots off the lead at the 2012 U.S. Open, but he's only even that close thanks to a stellar second round on Friday. Stricker shot a 68 today, which, at the moment, is good for the lowest round of the day. A few golfers, notably K.J. Choi, could still tie or better him, but he's currently the day's leader in the clubhouse.

The Olympic Club has played tough so far this week, and true to form, Stricker's round featured only three shots under par. One of those, though, was an eagle on the par five 17th hole. The other two shots under par were a birdie on the first hole and a birdie on 18. He also shot two bogeys during the round.
