U.S. Open Odds 2012: Tiger Woods Still Heavy Favorite

Tiger Woods hasn't won a major title since the 2008 U.S. Open, but that hasn't stopped Vegas oddsmakers from naming him the favorite to take home the 2012 U.S. Open championship. Woods, who won the Memorial Tournament two weekends ago, is tabbed by BOVADA as a 6/1 favorite, with reigning champion Rory McIlroy, who set the U.S. Open record for lowest aggregate score, in at No. 2 at 12/1. Local product Luke Donald, whose best finish at a U.S. Open was when he finished 12th in 2006, comes in at 14/1.

Here are the top ten favorites heading into the week (via OddsShark):

  • Tiger Woods 6/1
  • Rory McIlroy 12/1
  • Lee Westwood 12/1
  • Luke Donald 14/1
  • Phil Mickelson 18/1
  • Jason Dufner 25/1
  • Dustin Johnson 25/1
  • Justin Rose 28/1
  • Matt Kuchar 30/1
  • Rickie Fowler 33/1
