Some threatening weather in the Churchill Downs area forced the Kentucky Oaks to be delayed on Friday; as Pat Forde reported, patrons were initially asked to evacuate the infield.
Churchill has suspended the card and asked people in the infield "to calmly exit" due to impending thunderstorm. Welcome to anarchy.

At this stage, it appears the Kentucky Oaks will be delayed by 35 minutes, and if they do finally get to racing, muddy conditions may create an added challenge. The race had originally been scheduled for 4:45 p.m. CT. Television coverage is being provided by the NBC Sports Network.
