Kentucky Derby 2012: Robby Albarado Arrested, Won't Ride In 2012 Kentucky Oaks

The 2012 Kentucky Derby had some scandal injected into the fray on Friday, as Jockey Robby Albarado was arrested on a warrant for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and will not ride in the 2012 Kentucky Oaks, according to a report by The Courier-Journal. Albarado had been scheduled to ride Hard Not To Like in the Kentucky Oaks, and although he did not hava a mount in Saturday's Kentucky Derby he was still set to ride horses on the undercard, including Sassy Image in the G1-Humana Distaff (race 9).

According to the report, Jefferson County Sheriffs arrested Albarado at 9:15 a.m. on Friday morning at his home and he was booked into the jail at 9:30 a.m. on a full-cash bond. Albarado was arrested last April on allegations of assaulting his wife as well, but those charges were eventually dismissed.
