Notre Dame Basketball: Tim Abromaitis Denied 6th Year Of Eligibility

Notre Dame forward Tim Abromaitis was denied a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA and will not appeal the decision, so his college career has come to an end. Abromaitis requested another season because he missed nearly all of 2011-12 with a torn ACL in his right knee.

Abromaitis tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Nov. 25, costing him his fifth season with the Irish. He played in just two games in the 2011-12 season, averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Abromaitis had earned third team All-Big East honors during the 2010-11 season while averaging 15.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.

Notre Dame is also trying to get a sixth year for Scott Martin.
