Masters 2012 Results: Bubba Watson Wins Playoff To Earn Green Jacket

In the first Masters to go to a playoff since 2009, Bubba Watson used a tremendous shot on the second sudden death playoff hole to knock off Louis Oosthuizen and win the 2012 Masters. This win gave Watson his first career victory in a major tournament and also made him just the third lefty to win the Masters.

The final round was marked by two tremendous shots. Oosthuizen captured immediate attention after scoring a double eagle early in the round, which catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard. However, Watson struck with the shot of the tournament, as he found the green from the trees on the second playoff hole, which setup the par putt that won him the tournament.

With the win, the University of Georgia alum will bring home a check worth $1,440,000. Although Oosthuizen will be disappointed he couldn't win his second major, he will bring home $864,000 for his second place finish. University of Illinois graduate Steve Stricker struggled during his final round and finished tied for 47th at +7. Luke Donald finished his tournament with a bang, as he shot -3 in the final round to finish at +3.
