2012 Masters: Luke Donald Finishes With 68 In Final Round

Northwestern graduate Luke Donald finished off his 2012 Masters performance strong by posting a 68 on Sunday, but the world's top-ranked player still finishes the tournament at +3 overall. Some had wondered if Donald would finally win his first major championship this week, but Donald struggled right from the beginning.

Never finishing any of his first three rounds below par, Donald came into the final day of the tournament with at +7 overall. He finally got things straight at Augusta on Sunday, but it was far too late to provide anything but consolation and a slightly improved final standing.

Donald played well right from the beginning of the fourth round, scoring a birdie on the second hole and back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes. He bogeyed a pair of holes in the back nine, but a birdie and an eagle on the 15th hole helped him to finish the day strong. His final round score of 68 was by far the best he put up in Augusta.
