Notre Dame Football Spring Game: Quarterback Everett Golson Shines For Irish

New, 1 comment

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish may be on the brink of another quarterback controversy. While incumbent starter Tommy Rees returns next season for his junior campaign, it was sophomore Everett Golson who starred in the Irish's annual spring game on Saturday afternoon.

SB Nation has the breakdown of the quarterback numbers:

Golson was 11-15 for 120 yards and two touchdowns in his time under center in the Irish's 83rd annual Blue-Gold game, easily outperforming Rees, who completed just seven of his 14 attempts for 84 yards, and he was intercepted once. Andrew Hendrix, another candidate for the position, threw an interception.

Also noteworthy for the Irish was the first look at prized recruit quarterback Gunner Kiel, who went 5-9 for 57 yards and an interception in the game.
