Freshman center Anthony Davis went 1-for-10 from the field, but finished with six points, 16 rebounds, six blocks, five assists and three steals to help key a 67-59 victory for the Kentucky Wildcats. It's the first NCAA championship for coach John Calipari. This is the eight national championship in school history for Kentucky.
Guard Doron Lamb. had 22 points and three assists for Kentucky. Marquis Teague had 14 points. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
Kansas was led by forward Thomas Robinson, who had 18 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Tyshawn Taylor had 19 points on 8-of-17 shooting.
The Wildcats finish the season 38-2. No. 2 Kansas end the season with a 32-7 overall record.
