After one quarter of play, the Chicago Bulls hold a 30-28 lead on the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are without the services of point guard Kyrie Irving on Friday night. Irving, who was a gametime decision, ultimately was forced to sit this one out because of an illness.
Nonetheless, the Cavaliers shot 54.5% in the first quarter; Ramon Sessions hit 4-6 shots from the field and has eight points. Antawn Jamison leads the team with nine points, though he hit just 3-7 shots.
Derrick Rose was just 2-5 in the quarter and has five points to go with three assists. Luol Deng has already scored 15 points.
