Jabari Parker anxious to get back on court

The Simeon High School star and No. 2 prospect in the class of 2013 returned to the court for Simeon's season opener.

Jabari Parker made a surprise appearance in Simeon High School's season opening victory on Saturday, Dec. 1. Parker had not played since breaking his foot in July and has yet to practice with the team, but played 11 minutes in the season opener. Parker scored six points and grabbed four rebounds in what he described as a "D-plus" performance.

Parker said he decided to play after seeking a second opinion on his broken foot from a doctor who has tended to multiple professional athletes. He still has not returned to practice, taking part in conditioning drills on Wednesday, rather than joining his teammates in their three-hour practice.

Parker is the second-ranked prospect in the class of 2013 and is excited to get back on the court and remind people of his skills. He has been out for five months, but is ready to return to his dominating ways, saying "a lot of people forgot and I need to get back to it."
