The college football bowl season starts to really pick up this weekend, as there are four games between Thursday and Saturday. The game of the most local interest is probably the the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl, which features the Ball St. Cardinals against the Central Florida Knights. The game takes place on Friday, Dec. 21, in Tampa, FL, and the Cardinals are touchdown underdogs.
The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl, which is between the BYU Cougars and San Diego St. Aztecs, will take place on Thursday night at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN. The Cougars went 7-5 this season, but have a ferocious defense, particularly their front seven.
There will be two games on Saturday, Dec. 22. The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl will kick off at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN, and will feature the East Carolina Pirates and the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns. This game features two good offenses and two sub-par defenses, so there could be a lot of fireworks in the Superdome.
Later that day will be the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas, which will be between the Washington Huskies and the 19th ranked Boise St. Broncos. Boise has seen a lot of turnover this season after losing their starting quarterback and running back, but still managed to get to 10 wins. The game starts at 2:30 p.m. CT, and can be seen on ESPN.
