Jabari Parker likely out rest of week with foot injury

Simeon High School star Jabari Parker will likely sit out the rest of the week as he recovers from a foot injury.

Bob Donnan-US PRESSWIRE

Jabari Parker, the Simeon High School star and No. 2 basketball prospect in the Class of 2013, did not play on Monday and will likely sit out games on Wednesday and Friday of this week as well. Parker broke his right foot over the summer, and was experiencing soreness after playing in two games with Simeon last week.

Parker said his foot is "not used to the pounding" and that he wanted to rest it for the rest of the week. He plans on practicing with the team this week and being ready to return for the Pontiac Tournament next week, but he will most likely sit when Simeon takes on Larry Hawkins on Wednesday and against Brooks on Friday.

Parker will announce his college decision at 3 p.m. CT on Thursday. He is deciding between Duke, Michigan State, Florida, Stanford and BYU. Parker's father has guessed that Duke and Michigan State are the front-runners.
