It was a close game the entire way with the DePaul Blue Demons taking a narrow 33-31 lead into the locker room at half time and pulling out a five point victory, 69-64 over the Northern Illinois Huskies.

The Blue Demons improved to 8-3 on the season with the win. Brandon Young led the DePaul attack with 15 points on the day. The Blue Demons also got 14 points from Jamee Crockett and 12 points from Cleveland Melvin.

The game was surprisingly close given the Huskies 2-6 record entering the contest. Only one player got into double digits for the Huskies; Abdel Nader drained 20 points for the game. The next closest for the Huskies was Kevin Gray who chipped in eight points off the bench.

DePaul has now won six straight and face the UMBC Retrievers on Saturday. Meanwhile the Huskies will head to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Seattle Redhawks on Wednesday and the Washington Huskies on Saturday.
