College Hockey 2012 scores: Michigan State, Michigan, Minnesota split weekend

All three teams went 1-1 and Notre Dame dropped a game to the Western Michigan Broncos this weekend.

The No. 8 Michigan Wolverines needed a shootout to get past Northern Michigan on Friday. The Wolverines went to the shootout tied 4-4 and won in the shootout 1-0. The Michigan State Spartans were shutout by the Bowling Green Falcons 1-0 on Friday evening before the teams met again on Saturday night and Michigan State took care of the Eagles easily, winning the Saturday re-match 6-1.

Michigan's re-match with Northern Michigan on Saturday saw the Wolverines drop the game 4-3 to the Wildcats. The Minnesota Golden Gophers spent the weekend on the ice with in-state rival Minnesota State Mavericks. The Golden Gophers took Friday night's tilt 3-2 before the teams headed to Minnesota State, where the Mavericks won 5-3.

The No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost a home game to the Western Michigan Broncos by the score of 3-2. First-ranked Boston College swept the weekend with wins over Maine and Massachusetts.
