With the college hockey season just underway, the Boston College Eagles sit at the summit of the NCAA Division I rankings. The Eagles got 38 first place votes as they start the season 4-1-0 with their only loss coming to the No. 15 Northeastern Huskies. The Minnesota Golden Gophers are right behind the Eagles, sitting at 4-1-1 on the season with three first place votes. The Denver Pioneers sit in third place despite having more first place votes, six, than the Golden Gophers. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish moved up from ninth to seventh in the poll while the Michigan Wolverines dropped from sixth to eighth.
At Division III, the St. Norbert College Green Knights sit in first at a perfect 3-0-0 with 18 first place votes. Oswego State in New York sits in second place with two first place votes. Gustavus Adolphus College sits in fifth place and the Milwaukee School of Engineering is in seventh place.
