The early afternoon win for the Michigan Wolverines over the Minnesota Golden Gophers might have put more pressure on the Nebraska Cornhuskers to get past the Michigan State Spartans. The comeback 28-24 win over MSU keeps Nebraska at the top of the Legends division of the Big Ten with Michigan nipping at their heels. Michigan's win makes its meeting with the Northwestern Wildcats next week a big one as a loss for the Wildcats could effectively eliminate them from the Big Ten Championship game. The Iowa Hawkeyes fell to 2-3 in conference play following a loss to the Indiana Hoosiers.
Speaking of the Hoosiers, the win makes their upcoming game against Wisconsin even more important. A win would put the Hoosiers at third in the conference, but with the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions ineligible for postseason play, Indiana would qualify for the conference championship game if the season ended that day. Ohio State and Penn State stomped on the winless Illinois Fighting Illini and Purdue Boilermakers respectively.
