In the third quarter of the Chicago Bears' 28-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings, running back Matt Forte sprained the same ankle he injured in Week 2 of the season. Although he missed the next game when he injured the ankle the first time, the team is hopeful Forte will be available when they take on the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday.
Forte's injury comes at a bad time for the Bears. After this Sunday's game with the Seahawks, they finish the season with three of four games away from Soldier Field. Both teams have a lot to play for Sunday, as the Bears try and to catch the second-place San Francisco 49ers - who are poised to earn an all-important bye to start the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Seahawks are hanging on to the sixth and final playoff spot by a thread.
Because of the injury, Forte will likely rest for much of this week's practice in preparation for Seattle, to not risk aggravating the injury again.
