Northwestern could have taken very early control of the Legends Division in the Big Ten had it been able to hold on in Happy Valley, but a furious comeback by the Nittany Lions ended those hopes. Northwestern is now at 1-1 in league play in advance of a trip to Minnesota to play the Golden Gophers.

Iowa and Michigan hold the early lead at the moment as each is 1-0 in conference play. Both of those teams have already had their off week as well. Michigan State, Northwestern, and Nebraska are all 1-1 with Minnesota sitting at the back at 0-1.

Fortunately for Northwestern, the loss did not come to a team within the division. They still have their five Legends Division games remaining as well as a game against 0-2 Illinois from the Leaders Division. Next week Iowa is at Michigan State while Michigan hosts Illinois and Nebraska has the week off.
