Illinois vs. Indiana score: Hoosiers lead Illini after 3rd quarter, 24-17

The Indiana Hoosiers lead the Illinois Fighting Illini after three quarters on Saturday, 24-17

Indiana kicker Mitch Ewald connected on a 28-yard field goal in the third quarter to extend the Hoosiers lead to 10 points. Then, Illinois kicker Tayler Zalewski answered with a 20-yard field goal. At halftime, Indiana led by a touchdown after Stephen Houston reached the end zone for the third time on Saturday.

Illinois was up at one point in the first half before 17 unanswered points propelled the Hoosiers into the lead.

So far, Illinois is dominating the run game, while Indiana is having more success through the air, despite Cameron Coffman's first quarter interception. Nate Sudfield has stepped in at quarterback for the Hoosiers and completed nine of his 12 pass attempts for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Donovonn Young has run the ball strong for Illinois, netting 116 yards on 19 carries. Nathan Scheelhaase has completed 10-of-15 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown.
