Illinois vs. Indiana score: Illini, Hoosiers tied after 1st quarter

Illinois and Indiana are tied, 7-7, after the first quarter of Saturday's game at Memorial Stadium.

The Fighting Illini marched down the field on a nine-play, 73-yard touchdown drive that ended with a short pass from Nathan Scheelhaase to Eddie Viliunas, which gave Illinois the first lead of the game. Earlier in the drive, Scheelhaase connected with Darius Millines on passes of 28 and 15 yards to help put the Illini into the red zone. Scheelhaase also had a 14-yard run on that possession.

But the Hoosiers responded with an almost identical nine-play, 75-yard touchdown drive of their own. Indiana running back Stephen Houston rushed two yards for the score.

Indiana regained possession after an Illinois' punt, but quarterback Cameron Coffman threw an interception. The Illini, however, were unable to take advantage of the turnover and punted again.

Both teams, each with a 2-5 overall record, have struggled this season and are still looking for their first Big Ten victory of the year.
