The No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish head north to take on the No. 16 Northern Michigan Wildcats Friday night in the first of a two-game series.
Notre Dame has gotten off to a 3-1 start on the year, with the lone loss coming Oct. 18 against Minnesota-Duluth. The Irish bounced back from that loss with a 4-1 victory the next night.
Junior forward T.J. Tynan leads Notre Dame in scoring, with four total points. Tynan's two goals also leads the team. Junior goaltender Steven Summerhays has started strong, posting a 1.51 goals against average in the four games.
Meanwhile, Northern Michigan has also started the season 3-1. The Wildcats split a two-game series last weekend against Nebraska-Omaha.
Senior forward Matt Thurber leads Northern Michigan with five points, while junior forward Reed Seckel leads the team with two goals scored.
