The Northern Illinois Huskies moved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the MAC, cruising to a 37-7 win over the hapless Akron Zips.
Northern Illinois sprinted out of the gates quickly, scoring the first 13 points of the game before Akron finally got on the board to make it 13-7. The rest of the game was all Huskies, as they scored the final 24 points of the game.
Northern Illinois rode a balanced attack to 528 yards of offense. The Huskies rushed for 305 yards and passed for 223 yards. They racked up 28 first downs to just 15 for Akron. The Zips managed only 199 yards of total offense.
Akron fell to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the MAC.
