David Roeder of the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Chicago Bulls are planning to build a practice facility adjacent to the United Center's east side.

The 55,000 square-foot facility is planned to be put in Lot J, which is near the arena's VIP parking lot, which is being planned to be turned into a retail and entertainment area.

Some, including Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, are also exploring the possibility of having the adjacent facility outfitted to serve as the home of the DePaul basketball program, who is searching for a home closer to their campus. The Bulls haven't announced anything pertaining to that rumor, however.

The Bulls currently practice outside of Chicago in Deerfield, Ill. and have been looking to move their practices into the city for some time. It is unknown if the new practice facility will host open practices, as their current ones are closed to the general public.
