The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were able to come out with a win Saturday over Stanford in OT, but it came at a price as quarterback Everett Golson suffered a concussion
The injury does not appear to be a serious one, as ESPN's Matt Fortuna is reporting that Golson could be cleared to return to practice as early as Tuesday, meaning that Tommy Rees will be returning to his back-up role.
Golson was not the only area quarterback to suffer a concussion as Illinois starting signal caller Nathan Scheelhasse left the second quarter of the Fighting Illini's 45-0 loss to the Michigan Wolverines with the same injury. Given that the Illini have a bye next week, it seems unlikely that he will miss any game time either.
The Northwestern Wildcats seemed to have avoided the injury bug in their win over Minnesota, as no major injuries were reported following the game.
