The Northern Illinois Huskies absolutely dominated the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday at Huskie Stadium, easily winning 45-3.
This MAC affair was never in doubt, with the Huskies rattling off 38 unanswered points to close out the scoring.
Northern Illinois (6-1, 3-0 MAC) racked up 460 total yards while cruising to a victory. The Huskies ran effectively throughout the contest, amassing 219 yards on 41 attempts.
Junior quarterback Jordan Lynch led the way, passing 13-for-21 for 232 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Perhaps even more impressive, Lynch ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.
Martel Moore also had a memorable day, catching eight of Lynch's passes for 133 yards and a touchdown.
Despite gaining 337 yards, Buffalo couldn't find the end zone against a bend-but-don't-break Huskies defense. The Bulls were their own worst enemy, turning the ball over three times including two Alex Zordich interceptions.
Buffalo (1-5, 0-3 MAC) was led both on the ground (47 yards on 13 carries) and in the air (18-30, 177 yards) by quarterback Alex Zordich.
Box score hero: Jordan Lynch was the catalyst for Northern Illinois, accounting for four touchdowns and 361 yards.
Did they cover?: NIU was favored by 12 points and easily covered the spread.
Next week's schedule: Buffalo will host the Pittsburgh Panthers next Saturday while the Huskies hit the road to duel with the Akron Zips.
