Blackhawks Vs. Avalanche Recap: Hawks Fall To Avs 4-0

The Chicago Blackhawks' losing streak is at three games after a 4-0 home loss to the Colorado Avalanche. The Blackhawks outshot the the Avalanche 27-22 but were blanked by Colorado goalie Sebastian Varlamov, who recorded his second shutout of the season.

The scoring started in the first period when Colorado's David Jones netted his eight goal of the season thanks to assists from Erik Johnson and T.J. Galiardi. Galiardi scored the second goal of the night for the Avs less than two minutes into the second period, it was his seventh of the season and came on assists from Paul Stastny and Johnson, once again. That goal was followed up almost seven minutes later by David Van der Gulik's first goal of the season. The Avs then added a garbage time goal with less than two minutes left on Chuck Kobasew's fifth goal of the season.

The Avs will try and break the streak on Sunday night at home vs. the Detroit Red Wings.
