The Chicago Blackhawks are one step closer to a three-game losing streak after the first period vs. the Colorado Avalanche. The Avs took a 1-0 lead on David Jones' eight goal of the season, with came on assists from Erik Johnson (his 14th of the season) and T.J. Galiardi (his fifth). The Blackhawks were also outshot in the half by the Avs eight to five, and were also outhit by double digits.
Chicago has yet to win in 2012, and they come into Friday night's game coming off of one-goal losses to the Philadelphia Flyers and Edmonton Oilers. In the process, the Hawks have lost their grip on the Western Conference lead, falling a point behind the Vancouver Canucks.
