Chicago Blackhawks Injury Update: Steve Montador And Marcus Kruger Skate On Friday; Return Dates Still Unknown

The Blackhawks do not know when they will see Steve Montador and Marcus Kruger back in the lineup -- the two were placed on injured reserve on Wednesday -- but they players are making progress and were able to skate on Friday:

The Blackhawks got encouraging news this afternoon on the injury front, as both defenseman Steve Montador and Marcus Kruger skated Friday morning. Both are still out for tonight's game. It's especially good news regarding Kruger, who's dealt with a concussion since Christmas time.

Montador, who is suffering from an undisclosed upper body injury, has five goals and five assists in 38 games this season. Kruger has three goals and seven assists.

The team called up two players to fill the holes left by Montador and Kruger, and one of them -- Andrew Shaw -- scored his first NHL goal on Thursday.
