The UFC is coming back to Chicago. On Saturday the UFC returns to the Windy City for the UFC on Fox which will be held at the United Center. According to a press release from the UFC, the event is sold out.
The headliner on Saturday will be a non-title light heavyweight bout between former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans and rising contender Phil Davis. The co-main event features middleweights Chael Sonnen and Mark Munoz, with the winner possibly being granted a title shot against UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
Sonnen fell to Silva after taking the champion to task for five rounds during their championship bout at UFC 117 in August of 2010. Sonnen has been campaigning for a second shot at Silva since the loss, calling out the champion following a dominating performance over for WEC champion Brian Stann at UFC 136.
In a press release, UFC president Dana White gave Chicago fans a reason to be excited about this weekends action. “The fans in Chicago have wanted us to come back there for a long time and they proved why it’s a great sports town by selling out the United Center,” UFC President Dana White said. “Get ready Chicago! We’re bringing a night of fights that you won’t forget!”
Saturday's event is scheduled to begin on Fox at 7:00.
