Blackhawks Vs. Predators Score Update: Nashville Leads 2-0 After One Period

Two Western Conference powers are meeting tonight at the United Center, and thus far, it's the Nashville Predators who are leading the Chicago Blackhawks 2-0.

The Predators scored both of their goals off Chicago giveaways. Craig Smith got Nashville on the board first when he beat Chicago goalie Corey Crawford for his 11th goal off the year. Matt Halischuk was credited with the assist. The Preds made it 2-0 with just 2:30 remaining in the period when Mike Fisher scored his 12th goal of the season off a pass from Patric Harnqvist.

Each team fired 10 shots on net in the first period. The 'Hawks hold an advantage in faceoff wins (12-6) and hits (9-7).

Nashville has won eight of its last nine games. Chicago has won five straight at home, outscoring opponents 23-10 over that span.
