Gunner Keil Enrolls At Notre Dame, Leaves LSU

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have enrolled freshman quarterback and top quarterback prospect Gunner Kiel.

Kiel had initially committed to the Indiana Hoosiers but decommitted in late 2011. He then switched to the LSU Tigers where he planned to enroll early, but has instead returned to his home state, Indiana, enrolling early with the Fighting Irish.

Gunner Kiel joins fellow top recruit Elijah Shumate as members of an increasingly impressive 2012 class of recruits. According to Rivals.com, Kiel rates as a five-star quarterback who features pro-style skills (drop back and pass). Shumate rates as a four-star safety/linebacker prospect.
