Notre Dame Vs Connecticut Score Update: Irish Fall To Huskies 67-53

Notre Dame came in to Saturday's game against UConn knowing it wouldn't be easy. The Irish had a decent first half, but the Huskies showed in the second half why they are ranked 17th in the country. UConn outscored the Irish 43-28 in the second half to lead them to a 67-53 Big East road victory in South Bend.

The Irish (11-7, 3-2) were led Saturday by Eric Atkins who scored 20 points. Scott Martin added another 12 points for Notre Dame.

Connecticut (14-3, 4-2) had a nice balanced offense on Saturday. Four Huskies were in double figures led by Shabazz Napier who scored 16 points. Huskies center Andre Drummond was a monster inside scoring 10 points and adding 13 rebounds.

The downfall for Notre Dame was shooting percentage. The Irish shot just 32 percent from the field.

Notre Dame will next face Rutgers on Monday while Connecticut will face Cincinnati on Wednesday.
