The Chicago Cubs placed pitcher Carlos Zambrano on the Disqualified List Saturday after his recent incident Friday night in Atlanta. Zambrano was ejected after intentionally throwing at Braves third basemen Chipper Jones. Big Z left the stadium and informed the club he was retiring.
↵While on the Disqualified list a player will go without pay and can’t have contact with the team for 30 days. MLB and the MLB Players Association will review Zambranos case during this time and decide on his baseball future.
↵This isn’t the first time that Zambrano has been asked to leave the Cubs. Last season Zambrano was suspended by the Cubs and required to go to anger management after another blowup in the Cubs dugout.
↵It’s time for the Cubs to move on and cut their losses for the best of the team.
