The Cubs will go for a rebound victory against the Nationals on Wednesday night, after dropping Tuesday's game largely due to two untimely home runs given up by Matt Garza. Wednesday's game will be the second game of a three game set, with Monday's game having been postponed to Thursday after torrential rain.

Rodrigo Lopez, 2-3 with a 5.19 ERA and 1.47 WHIP, will take the mound for the Cubs. Lopez is coming off of a start in which he gave up six runs on seven hits over just 4.0 innings pitched against Pittsburgh. In his career against the Nationals, Lopez is 1-3 with a 4.62 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Over his career, Rick Ankiel is 1-for-3 against Lopez with a home run, while Ryan Zimmerman is 3-for-11 with two doubles.

Ross Detwiler will start for the Nationals, looking for his first ever victory on the road. Detwiler's first start since July 5th saw him earn the loss after giving up two runs on five hits over 5.0 innings pitched against Colorado. In his last start against the Cubs, Detwiler earned the win after throwing 5.1 innings and giving up two runs on four hits. This year, Aramis Ramirez is 1-for-3 against Detwiler with a home run, while Reed Johnson is 1-for-3 with a double.

The weather in Chicago is forecast to be sunny and pleasant, with a game time temperature in the mid-70's. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 P.M., CDT, and the game will be broadcast on WGN and MASN HD.
