After five games against the Twins this year, the White Sox still have not managed to notch a win. They'll hope that changes on Friday night as they send Gavin Floyd to the mound to end the losing streak.
Floyd, 6-8 with a 4.17 ERA and 1.20 WHIP, has made one start against the Twins so far this season. In that start, he pitched eight innings, giving up four runs on eleven hits and two walks, while striking out six. Alexi Casilla was 2-for-4 with a double in that game, and Michael Cuddyer was 2-for-3 with a walk.
The Twins will send Nick Blackburn to the hill on Friday night. Blackburn, 6-6 with a 4.02 ERA and 1.41 WHIP, has also made one start against the White Sox this season. In that start, Blackburn threw eight shutout innings, giving up seven hits and picking up the victory while walking one and striking out one. This year against Blackburn, Paul Konerko is 2-for-5, while Alex Rios is 2-for-6 with a home run.
The weather in Chicago is forecast to be sunny and mild, with a game time temperature in the high 70's to low 80's. First pitch is at 7:10 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on WCIU and FS-N.
