Sox Look To Make Up Division Ground Against KC

With their game on Monday, the Sox have begun a nearly three week long stretch of games against AL Central division opponents. The long string of match-ups against division rivals has given the Sox a golden opportunity to make up ground in their division race in rapid fashion, and they hope Jake Peavy can help them keep rolling against the Royals to do it.

Peavy, 4-1 with a 4.47 ERA and 1.08 WHIP, is coming off of a start against Colorado in which he threw six innings, while giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out four. In his career against the Royals, Peavy is 4-2 with a 3.89 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. Billy Butler is 4-for-10 against Peavy with three home runs in his career facing the White Sox starter.

Pitching for Kansas City will be Felipe Paulino, who is 0-4 with a 7.36 ERA and 2.05 WHIP. Paulino has never started against the White Sox, but Adam Dunn is 2-for-2 against him with a home run and a walk.

The weather in Chicago is expected to be sunny and hot, with a game time temperature in the upper 80s to low 90s. First pitch is at 7:10 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on WCIU and FSKC.
