White Sox Welcome Bronx Bombers To Town

Monday evening the White Sox will begin the last series of their most difficult homestand of the season. After winning two of three from Detroit, the Sox followed that up losing two of three to the Boston Red Sox. The Sox now welcome the New York Yankees to town for a four game series. The two teams faced off in a four game series in New York back in April and each won two games.

Jake Peavy will get the start for the Sox in the series opener. Peavy has had a rough season for the White Sox. The veteran right hander comes in to Monday's game with a 4-4 record and an ERA of 5.27. Peavy last pitched against the Yankees back in 2008 and only lasted four innings and lost to the Yankees in that outing.

The Sox will face a familiar foe Monday with CC Sabathia scheduled to start for the Yankees. The Sox used to face the big lefty four or five times a season when he pitched for the Indians. Now they luckily only have to face Sabathia once or twice a season. Sabathia is having another great season for the Yankees. The Yankees ace is 15-5 on the season with an ERA of 2.56. In his previous outing against the White Sox, Sabathia earned the victory going seven innings and allowed three unearned runs.

The forecast at the time of first pitch is temps in the upper 80's under partly cloudy skies. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 CST. The game will be televised on CSN.
