Bears Trade Greg Olsen To Carolina

The Chicago Bears have traded TE Greg Olsen to the Carolina Panthers. The Bears in return will be receiving a player and a draft pick. It is not known at this time who the player is or what round draft pick they are receiving.

This trade doesn’t come as a huge surprise since it was announced yesterday that the Bears might be looking at trading the tight end.

The 2007 First-Round Pick didn’t really fit in Mike Martz’s offense. Last season Olsen caught 41 passes for just 404 yards.

The Bears are also set to release tight end Brandon Manumaleuna after just one season. To replace Manumaleuna, the Bears are set to sign blocking tight end Matt Spaeth.
