Cubs Open Series Against Brewers Looking For Four In A Row

The Cubs finally beat their three game streak demons with their series win against Houston on Sunday. Now, they'll travel to Wrigley North and try to extend their streak to four in a row against division rival the Milwaukee Brewers.

Starting for the Cubs will be Ryan Dempster. Dempster, 7-7 with a 5.00 ERA and 1.42 WHIP, is coming off a rare poor start against the Phillies. In that game, he threw just three innings, taking the loss after giving up six runs on seven hits and three walks, while striking out just five. In his last game against Milwaukee, he took a no decision after pitching seven shutout innings, giving up just four hits and one walk while striking out seven. This season, Yuniesky Betancourt is 1-for-3 against Dempster with a double.

Chris Narveson will take the mound for the Brewers. Narveson, 6-6 with a 4.45 ERA and 1.40 WHIP, is coming off a performance of seven shutout innings against Arizona, in which he gave up just four hits and no walks while striking out four. In his last game against the Cubs, he got the W after pitching 5.1 innings, giving up four runs on six hits and three walks, while striking out five. Marlon Byrd is 1-for-3 with a double against Narveson this year, and Jeff Baker is 2-for-6 with a home run.

The weather in Milwaukee is forecast to be mostly sunny, with a game time temperature in the mid to upper 70's. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on WGN and FSN.
