Sox Go For Series Win Against Tigers

The White Sox couldn't have gotten off to a better start to the second half of the season. They ended a six-game losing streak to the Tigers at Comerica Park and had no problems against one of the best pitchers in baseball.  Although it was just one game, a win Saturday would give the Sox a much needed series win and put them right in the middle of the AL Central race.

Edwin Jackson will make the start for the Sox Saturday. The former Tiger is 5-7 on the season with an ERA of 4.30.  Jackson will look to rebound from his last start at Comerica. On April 23rd, the Sox right-hander gave up eight runs on 12 hits in a 9-0 loss to the Tigers.

The Tigers will counter with Max Scherzer. Scherzer has pitched well for the Tigers this season.  The righty is 10-4 with an ERA of 4.69 on the season. Scherzer has had much better success at home where his ERA is 3.86 as opposed to the road where it is 5.87.

The forecast in Detroit at the time of first pitch is temps in the upper 80's under sunny skies. First pitch is scheduled for 3:10 CST. The game will be televised on Fox.
