White Sox Turn To Floyd Looking For A Sweep

After winning the first two games of their series against Seattle behind John Danks and Philip Humber, the White Sox will look to Gavin Floyd to see if they can make it a clean sweep at the Cell.

Gavin Floyd, solid all year, is currently 6-5 with a 3.84 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. He is, though, coming off of a mediocre start against Boston in which he gave up four runs on nine hits over 6.2 innings pitched, while striking out just one. In his last game against Seattle, he pitched 8.0 shutout innings and gave up just three hits and two walks, while striking out six. In that game, Ichiro Suzuki was 2-for-4 against Floyd with a stolen base.'

Pitching for Seattle will be Jason Vargas. Vargas is 4-3 with a 3.96 ERA and 1.27 WHIP on the year. In his last start, he threw a complete game shutout against Tampa Bay, giving up just four hits and a walk while also striking out four. In his career against the White Sox, Vargas is 0-0 with a 5.40 ERA and 1.54 WHIP.

The weather in Chicago is expected to be clear and hot, with a game time temperature in the low 90's, and scattered thunderstorms starting in the evening. First pitch will be at 7:10 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on CSN and ROOT Sports.
