Cubs Turn To Zambrano To Salvage Final Game of Series

Cubs fans are still scratching their heads on Sunday, asking why they pitched to Albert Pujols on Saturday in a tie game with two outs in the 12th inning. Hopefully if that situation should come up on Sunday the Cubs will not make the same mistake.

Carlos Zambrano will be on the mound Sunday as the Cubs look to avoid the sweep. St. Louis has been like home for the Cubs hurler. Zambrano hasn't lost in St. Louis since 2003. In that time the righty has gone 7-0 with an ERA of 1.41 in 11 starts. The Cubs starter is also coming off his best start of the season. Zambrano (5-2) gave up just one run in eight innings against Houston on Monday.

Chris Carpenter will be looking for his first win of the season at Busch Stadium. Carpenter has struggled this season with a 1-5 record and an ERA of 4.52. The good news for the Cardinals is that Carpenter's only win this season was against the Cubs back in May.

The forecast for the series finale in St. Louis is temps in the upper 80's under partly sunny skies. First pitch is scheduled for 1:15 CST. The game can be seen on CSN.
