Sox Head To Rockies To Take On Colorado

One day after facing the Cubs in a make up game, the Colorado Rockies will see the other Chicago baseball team as the White Sox continue interleague play with a trip to Coors Field.

Gavin Floyd will start for the Sox, as he tries to get back on track. Floyd, at 6-7 with a 4.31 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, is coming off of a start against the Cubs in which he gave up six runs on five hits and three walks over 5.0 innings pitched, while striking out three. In his career against the Rockies, Floyd is 0-1 with a 9.31 ERA and 1.55 WHIP, though most of the Rockies he has faced in the past are no longer with the team.

Pitching for Colorado will be Jason Hammel. Hammel, 4-7 with a 4.13 ERA and 1.39 WHIP, is also looking to right his season ship after some recent struggles. In his career against the Sox, Hammel is 0-1 with a 4.63 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. Adam Dunn is 5-for-13 against Hammel with two doubles, while Paul Konerko is 2-for-5 with two home runs.

The weather in Denver is forecast to be hot, with a chance of thunderstorms and a game time temperature in the upper 80's. First pitch is at 7:40 P.M., CDT, and the game will be televised on WCIU and ROOT Sports.
