Cubs,Rockies Meet Monday For Makeup Game

The Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies will meet Monday to finish a series that began two months ago. The Cubs and Rockies were rained out on April 27th and will finish their season series today. This time of the season both teams would probably prefer the originally scheduled day off, but it is what it is. The fans who do plan on attending Monday's game should be treated to a very attractive pitching matchup.

Matt Garza will get the start for the Cubs Monday. Garza is just 3-6 on the season with an ERA of 4.11. Although his numbers might not be outstanding, Garza does have the possibility of throwing a gem anytime he gets the ball. The Cubs righty has struggled against the Rockies. In his three previous starts, Garza is 0-3 with a 5.29 ERA against Colorado.

The Rockies will send their hottest pitcher to the mound in the series finale. Jhoulys Chacin is 8-4 with an ERA of 2.71 on the season. Those numbers are impressive on their own, but in June Chacin has even been better. The Rockies righty is 3-0 with an outstanding 1.01 ERA in his past four outings.

The forecast at the time of first pitch is temps in the 70's with a chance for storms. First pitch is scheduled for 1:20 CST. The game will be televised on CSN.
