Cubs Go For Much Needed Series Win

The Chicago Cubs are not having a great season by any means. They haven't won more than two games in a row all season. Just about every key player has at some point been on the disabled list or at least missed games with an injury. Recently they have played hard, but it still isn't leading to victories. It's still a little early to go for moral victories, but a win Sunday would give the Cubs a series win over the struggling Royals.

Getting the start for the Cubs on Sunday will be Randy Wells. Wells comes in to the series finale with a 1-1 record and an ERA of 5.70. The Cubs righty will look to help the Cubs avoid losing their seventh series out of the last eight. Sunday will be Wells first start against the Royals.

Luke Hochevar will take the bump for the Royals Sunday. Hochevar is 4-8 this season with an ERA of 4.97. The former number one overall pick has been up and down all season. One good sign for Hochevar and the Royals is that since 2010 he is 8-3 in 13 daytime starts.

The forecast in Kansas City at the time of first pitch is temps in the 90's with a chance of storms. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 CST. The game will be televised on CSN.
